I'm posting according to format given here- http://www.cometforums.com/forum-5/announcement-1-read-this-before-posting/

1) What version of BitComet are you using?

BitComet 1.16

2) What type of Internet connection do you have (ADSL, etc.)?

Broadband 256 KB/s (So download speed is around 35-40 KB/s)

3) Do you have a modem? Do you use a router? What make and model are each one of them? Have you forwarded your port?

Seimens, yes port forwarded correctly.

4) If you have more than one router, be sure to mention the make and model of both devices, how are they connected (i.e. in which connector of both devices is the network cable plugged) and which one of the devices is connected to or is the modem.

Also, if you have more than one computer make sure to mention in this case, to which router is every one of them connected.

No just 1.

5) What version of Windows, Firewall and Antivirus do you use?

Windows Firewall off. Just Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 Firewall along with Anti-virus.

6) If you are asking about a specific torrent or file that you have downloaded, make sure that you include the complete torrent name, as well as the complete names of the files and their respective extensions/formats (e.g.: .rar, .wma, .bin, .cue, etc.).

Not applicable.

7) For speed-related issues, please run various speed tests at a site such as speedtest.net (make sure that no other computer is using your Internet connection and that all other programs - including BitComet - are closed, during the tests). Include the results, along with the settings that you are presently using, in your post, so that we may review and offer suggestions to improve its performance.

Not speed related problems.

Problem:

This has been happening for last 1 month. I have been using BitComet for 1 year without problem.

But what happens is BitComet downloads more data than total file size and it takes unusually long time to complete download.

For eg. Yesterday I kept 100 songs in 1 torrent file to download, size- 750 MB. It usually takes around 5-6hrs to complete such data. But when I got up I saw that "down size" was showing 500 MB and "size left "around 450 MB. So total around 950 MB. Unusual when total size is just 750 MB.

I stopped, did hash check and restarted Bitcomet and router.

Then again same problem.

When it was around 95 MB left. I stopped and restarted but instead of 95 MB at the end it showed 120 MB downloaded.

What is BitComet downloading??

What I think?? I think BitComet downloads too many pieces at once and then deletes some pieces (because seeders disappear) and re-downloads them. Just what I think. Its a big problem because my download speed is too less.

Please help!!

There is a status report available on the web, called the "Internet Weather Report". It's about various network conditions and connectivity issues on the net, all over the world. The changes and trends very much resemble real-world weather systems. There are fronts, there are storms, there are droughts. It's pretty spooky. But between what you're transferring, and where it's coming from/to, and how it's being routed now (as opposed to last month), you do go through what look like dry seasons and wet seasons.

Some telecom company finally opens a trunk from THERE to HERE, and a lot of traffic suddenly finds a new and unanticipated routing. An undersea earthquake cuts the line from Idontknowistan to Nevva Herdofit, so now all of the traffic bound for Ireland has to be routed another way, which adds a load to this particular server who can now no longer handle the overloads from that server. Looks a lot like a hurricane's effects.

A dynamic system like this means that things don't remain constant, and the way things were last month doesn't mean they'll be the same way this month or next year.
