wseyller
I have a torrent that was partially downloaded using BitComet. Somehow BitComet got remove. I reinstalled the application. What is the proper way to resume a torrent. Do I need to get the orginal torrent file. If I load the torrent file and point it to download in the existing directory will it pick up where it left off or will it start at 0%.
kluelos
You do need the original torrent file. It is good practice to save .torrents to your disk somewhere you can find them again, and keep them until you are completely certain that you won't need them again. It must be the exact same .torrent file, not merely one with the same contents, or the partial download will be disregarded and the new torrent started from scratch. The easiest way to do this is to leave things in their default locations. When BC starts the new task, and spots the partial d/l in the default directory, it will verify the portion it already has, then take up from where it left off.
