Arcaianed
I know this has probably been asked a million times, but I have a game I've downloaded to 95.7% !!! It's taken 3 days to download, and I can't afford to download it again. I haven't lost the actual file, but I didn't save the torrent as a .torrent file, as the site I got it from doesn't let me do that. I haven't done anything to it. When I click the restore finished download button, I can succesfully find the download, but it then asks for a torrent to download it from. I can't save the torrent as a .torrent file because the site doesn't let me do that. If I try to download it and force a hash check, it just goes 0 -100% then back to 0, not 95.7%. I'm using bitcomet 1.22, Windows Vista, and I have Avast Antivirus. I have a (slow) ADSL connection, at 256 kb/s max. I am using a router, a netgear one ( "Wireless ADSL firewall router DG834G ). I was downloading XYZ - Reloaded torrent, and I can't download it again, as I do not have enough downloads left. Any help is apreciated, thanks ! greywizard
1. The notion that you can't download the .torrent file again from the site, is totally alien to us. You couldn't have downloaded the content in the first place if you haven't had the .torrent file. 2. What do you mean by the fact that "the site doesn't let you" save the .torrent file? If I try to download it and force a hash check, it just goes 0 -100% then back to 0, not 95.7%. 3. What is the "it" you're trying to download and from where? Because if you're talking about a manual hash-check, you must obviously already be in the possession of the .torrent file. So which is what? Just, so that you know, it is impossible for any BitTorrent client to download any content from the BitTorrent Network as long as it doesn't have downloaded on the local machine the .torrent file for that content. It needs and uses that file throughout the whole download process. Therefore, even the notion that you can't save the .torrent file on your PC is hilarious. How did you downloaded the contents of the .torrent in the first place then? And why did the task disappear in the first place? Did you voluntarily or mistakenly deleted it or it just vanished? This is a big mystery for all of us, which you didn't bother to clear. Second, you should be able to easily find your torrent in the Torrent History or even Torrent Exchange categories (in the last one, only provided it wasn't a private torrent) and add it to the Task List by simply double-clicking it. If not, you should definitely be able to re-download the .torrent file from the original site. I'm inclining towards believing that you misinterpret what happens when you try to re-download the .torrent file, therefore you'd better elaborate on what happens and the detailed steps you take. Arcaianed
1: Sorry, that was just the bitcomet settings making it so it automaticaly downloaded the .torrent file and I didn't get a chance to save it. 2: Yeah, sorry, I figured that one out as I said above. 3: I was downloading XXX. *** Please refrain from posting torrent names in the forums, unless asked by moderators *** I now have the .torrent file, but if I try to click "import unfinished download" and I click import folder, than manually use the correct .torrent file from the site I was downloading from, it still doesn't restore it to it's original percentage. greywizard
it still doesn't restore it to it's original percentage. That's because you did set the download path to the location where the downloaded files reside. You don't need to use the "Import unfinished download" function when you download the .torrent file from a web site. All you need to do is to download the .torrent file (you may very well leave it download automatically, and when presented with the properties dialog, make sure that the selected path points towards the folder containing your unfinished task. It's all in the Wiki FAQ: How do I resume a previous download file from another client?
