seabra57
Could we have unwanted issues related to eventual supply of our personal data, towards authorities? Is BitComet obliged to deliver those informations, or not?
greywizard
To what personal data are you referring exactly?
kluelos
BitComet, the client, contains no personal data about you. Bittorrent generally, has no information that can be traced directly to you (absent compelling your ISP to provide the personal information that THEY, not bittorrent, has about you). BitComet, the entity that makes the bittorrent client, is Chinese. Good luck to anyone trying to compel them to disclose any information about anything, that they might have, as they are quite likely to either ignore it or laugh. The UnUsual Suspect
The ONLY information BitComet logs is your username, the total time your online and the total amount of data uploaded. None of this records what your downloading or uploading, nor does it record who you are. We don't know who you are and we don't want to know. We don't know what you're downloading and we don't want to know. We ONLY record this data so we can give you the benefits you deserve for being a contributing member. Even this information is completely voluntary. Even BitComet users who decline to use CometID can still get the benefits that we offer, but those users who opt to use CometID and advance in rank are entitled to more LTseed resources as a reward for their efforts to share with the community.
