aussieyobbo6000
Earlier today my computer crashed while downloading a torrent (about 25gb with 98% complete), and now when I run bitcomet it has gone back to 0% complete. I have hash checked everything but it's still at 0%. Even the completed files (all .avi) which worked previously have now completely stopped working as well. I'm using bitcomet v1.25 on windows 7 x64. Is there anything that I can do to sort this out or do I have to start again? Thanks
The UnUsual Suspect
This sounds like a file system error, meaning the files are there, but the entries in the file allocation table have been corrupted. You can scan your harddrive with a data recovery program to recover them, but your success will vary depending if that part of your drive has been used to save data since this error, so you may recover files that rehash to less complete. Either way, this could be a sign of harddrive and/or file system problems, so running some tests/scans would probably be a good idea.

kluelos
That's got to be really frustrating. The first thing to do is find out whether the partial download is still actually there. Use Windows Explorer for this. Go to the download directory and see if the partial files are actually there or not. Check their sizes if they are. If they are there, then it's probably prudent to back them up if you can, maybe burning them to optical disk, in pieces if necessary. This is a pretty cheap way to make sure you don't lose everything. Once you do that, you may want to try hash-checking with a known-working version before 1.25 and see what happens. In the meantime, the developers are working on a solution.
