tvs5146
I cannot locate anywhere else in the computer where I can remove Bitcomet from being the default downloading tool. As I stated in the topic description, I have removed the check mark from the option to make BitComet the default downloading tool. Do I need to also click on the option to uninstall IE Extension for BitComet? What exactly does IE Extension for BitComet mean? Please help, as everything that I have to download can only be done with BitComet. This isn't always practical. I have v.1.27 installed, using AT&T Uverse as my provider (not sure if that is DSL or what it is). The router/modem is ATT 2Wire, model 3800HGV-B. There are 3 computers using this router, 2 of them wirelessly. I am using Windows XP with McAffe virus and firewall.
kluelos
"Default downloading tool" is a setting in your web browser. You need to be looking there, in the browser's settings, in order to change this. The IE extension for BitComet is the tool that makes the choice AVAILABLE in IE, to use BitComet as the default downloading tool. Unfortunately, you didn't say which browser you use. The UnUsual Suspect
You can uninstall browser integration for Internet Explorer from within BitComet's options. For Firefox/Cometbird, you can uninstall it from Tools>Add Ons
