Status Bar not showing up when maximized

I have 2 monitors, usually I use one to watch movies and the other to do work. when ever the screen is maximized on Mpcstar 5.2, when I move from my working screen to the video screen to use the status bar to skip some videos, it will work once, and it will not come up again until I minimize and maximize it again. I believe this also happen with the earlier 3 versions, but 4.x works fine.
