aacv
Currently, everything is working fine if I cut off the VPN connection. I am using VPN because some trackers are blocked due to the world famous censorship and also to speed up the foreign site connection. Under the VPN pptp connection, the BitComet cannot recognize my real IP . Instead, the "fake IP (the IP of my VPN service provider)" is recognized and being shown next to yellow WAN dot, and the port is blocked, yellow dot is on. How to make the Bit-comet recognize my real IP under the VPN conenction? What I need to do on my computer ? What VPN provider need to do on their site ? Thank you ! -------- I am using BitComet 1.27, ADSL 2Mb bandwidth, ADSL modem, NO any routers, port is working properly without VPN connection. Running WINDOWS XP sp3, windows Firewall disabled, NO any Antivirus , nothing wrong with any torrents file, speed is OK as I expected. The UnUsual Suspect
Sounds like your VPN is using a firewall. You'd have to ask them to allow all connection attempts on your listening port. However if they have many users sharing this same IP, they may not be willing to do this.
greywizard
Your solution would be to use a VPN service which forwards incoming connections. Those that I know of, are pay services for reasons which I trust are obvious.
