ELeung
there should be a feature that will automatically stop a download once it is done instead of having the user manually stopping the upload that's just unnecessary don't you think? This way people can leave some downloads overnight and wouldn't have to worry about the internet connection being weak.
kluelos
I'm not sure what you mean by the connection being "weak". BitComet doesn't stop when the download is complete because you need to seed back at least as much as you have taken. Since most people's connections are asymmetric, it takes longer to seed back to a 1:1 ratio than it does to complete the download. The community existence requires and depends on people seeding and giving back. BitComet does have automatic controls to halt a task when it has reached a certain share ratio or has been seeding for a certain amount of time, after it has finished downloading. Those who stop their downloads as soon as it's complete are taking from the community without giving back, which harms us all.
The UnUsual Suspect
Any client that helped users stop tasks without seeding would quickly be banned by all trackers. Users that stop tasks when download is complete without seeding are also banned. upload that's just unnecessary don't you think? If this is your belief, you won't be welcome on any bittorrent sites. Torrents are about sharing, and your expected to help share the files, if you don't want to, then don't use torrents. Get a usenet account or join a rapidsare/megaupload site and get your stuff that way if you don't want to share.
