how do i add playlists

hi i am fairly new to the video player and swiched over b/c wmp sucks, i cant seem to figure out how to make custom playlits i.e movies, songs, i can make the playlist go away, i can make it come back, i can add, or delete files, just cant seem to figure out how to make my own playlist, is this even possible as i have tons of files i wanna add , and dont wanna manualyy add them every time i wanna watch something, thanks in advance
