ianmcm01
Hi there i have a problem which has been happening with bit comet for a while. When a task has finished and bit comet hash checks, bit comet closes and restarts. On restarting all unfinished downloads need to be hash checked. This is a bit annoying especially when leaving downloads running overnight to finish and share Is there a fix for this pesky little bug with bit comet? The UnUsual Suspect
When you provide no information about the software and hardware you're using, the best you're going to get is some wild guesses, or fixes that don't apply you. If you want help specific to your problem, then read the pesky "READ THIS before posting" topic. ps. this isn't a bug with bitcomet, millions of people use it everyday and don't have this problem. Most likely something your computer is doing that is forcing the crash, like a virus scan or something. (there is your wild guess, if that is what your after)
ianmcm01
Sorry my mistake :( bit comet 1.28 internet ADSL netgear dg434v3 desktop pc cable (ethernet) windows xp windows firewall avast free avast free is not set to perform a virus check on completion of task
The UnUsual Suspect
If bitcomet only crashes when a task completes, then there are two things that are done at this time, both optional. Double check in bitcomet options to make sure it's not set to do a virus scan. Regardless of your virus scan settings in avast, bitcomet can initiate the scan. If that doesn't help, look for the advanced option "Bittorrent.hash_check_on_finished". Disable that and report if the tasks still cause bitcomet to crash when complete.
