mudit4
Actually I just tried it on a popular torrent from thepiratebay and it worked perfectly. I'll also add that as soon as I entered the torrent it was instantly ready to download, so someone must have already done the task. I then opened the torrent in bitcomet and added it as a webseed and it is downloading. edit: I did some testing and if you run the link as an http task, their server will let you open upto 8 connections concurrently do you generated HTTP links using torrific and webseeded the torrent? does bitcomet fetched data from the http server? Was it a multiple file torrent? if yes than plz give me the torrent link and torrific link of that particular torrent
The UnUsual Suspect
I did it with torrific and it did webseed the single file torrent. I haven't tried it with multiple file torrents, if you do you may have to alter the link/s and they may need to be hosted on the same directory on torrific's website. For example, links like hxxp://torrific.com/yourfolder/torrentxxx/files/file0001.avi hxxp://torrific.com/yourfolder/torrentxxx/files/file0002.avi You would use this link... hxxp://torrific.com/yourfolder/torrentxxx/files/ Then bitcomet would know to download all of the torrents files from that location. If torrific puts them in completely separate locations, then I can't say if it would work or not, but you can try.
mudit4
I just got a new idea. bitcomet might be programmed in a such way that it automatically searches for web seeds from sites like torrific.com it would definitely be useful specially when the torrent has low seeds/peers it might be added as a feature like LT or emule which searches for mirrors

mudit4
can bitcomet be programmed in a such way that it automatically searches for web seeds from sites like torrific.com
The UnUsual Suspect
Yes, it already is, however the only way it can know of the existence of these ftp/http locations is if a bitcomet peer download them and has the options set to submit the mirror locations. This was added to bitcomet back in version 0.85 (approx), but it wasn't very successful at finding http/ftp mirrors, but the LTseed and emule mirrors were very successful, so that has been the focus of our efforts in recent versions. Torrent for you to demonstrate the webseeding from torrific.com web link http://u01.btaccel.com/833862c0e8/i:71.185.221.36,u:Vtm5rm8AXGfqAOa6ADq_,w:296200/9912/a38d02c287893842a32825aa866e00828a318f07/ubuntu-11.04-desktop-i386.iso Torrent magnet link magnet:?xt=urn:btih:UOGQFQUHRE4EFIZIEWVIM3QAQKFDDDYH&dn=ubuntu-11.04-desktop-i386.iso&xl=718583808 As a test, I removed all the trackers, disabled dht, ltseed, pex and emule, only allowing webseed peers and it's downloading fine, however torrific is a low bandwidth connection, most people will find little or no benefit to doing this. mudit4
I have got it working with single file torrent and want to know that how can i use it with multiple file torrent the feature i am saying would directly contact to torrific and search for links. it should not depend on other peers and torrific is not such a bad option when downloading with 8 connections you can easily get 1Mbps of speed I want bitcomet to search on other sites also torrific is not the only site which do this
The UnUsual Suspect
torrific would be a bad choice to search from, since the links expire so soon. By the time the links found their way into our database, they would be useless, creating bloat in our lists. If bitcomet had to test hundreds (if not thousands) of links looking for good ones, it would ruin the benefit of this option. Also, the link for a specific file cannot be searched until a bitcomet peer downloads that file and submits a hash value for it, that is the only way it could be indexed, and any index should be a location that is at least semi permanent, links that expire in days should have their domains blocked from our databases because they will do more harm then good. Regarding that torrent, any http connection I made to torrific's server varied in speed from 10 to 100kB/s, but if I add bittorrent peers, many of them download above 1000kB/s constant. Even if I run the torrific link as an http task and it lets me open 8 connections, I'm still limited to a max of 800kB/s, and that is only if all connections peak at the same moment, in reality I'm lucky to get half that at any moment. I'm sure paid users get much better speed, but this really isn't a good method of downloading. They do have a good idea though, it is no different then how a privately operated seedbox works. It runs the torrent remotely and lets you download the files using http after they are constructed from bittorrent pieces. The idea to operate it publicly is a good idea and I can certainly understand why free users are limited in bandwidth, but for most users, this negates any benefit. Where I do see a benefit of this is for users who don't know how to use torrents, or are on a firewalled connection, or one that is extremely limited upstream and cannot get good performance on torrents. One thing that concerns me is how they have coded their client that runs these torrents. For example, when BitComet begun our VIP server project, we designed it so the VIP server will become a valuable peer to the entire swarm. It's coded to upload at great speed so it can attract the best peers, then in the rare cases when it cannot upload a ratio above 1:1, it continues the task for upto two hours past completion (most tasks complete with ratio far above 1:1 and they only case where it wouldn't is if there was little or no demand for the files). It would be very easy for torrific to code their client to be a poor sharing client, and I sure hope that isn't what they have done. If they did do something like that, they would find many trackers blocking their IP addresses, as well as having their IPs distributed in popular blocking lists. ps. I already explained how to make it work with multiple torrent files.
mudit4
Thanx for the explaination. But i still do not understand that how can make multiple file torrent work with torrific links because i can't edit the http links of torrific in the way you said. The UnUsual Suspect
It looks to me like you did it right, but the server is rejecting the webseed connection. I don't know why, but I'd guess it was setup with some kind of security to limit connections to only browsers. Try it with a server under your control, web seeding wasn't designed to be used by a 3rd party to distribut software from a publishers own website.
