blackps
Let's say i set the range between 6 ( min ) , 400 ( max ) and not select "Auto-Choose cache size in the given range" BitComet will store maximum 400 MB in the cache see pic. greywizard
You don't make any sense. All that your pictures confirm is that the GUI modules of BitComet are working consistently in this regard, by displaying in the Statistics tab the same Max value that you set on the Options page. The actual amount of memory used for cache, reported by BitComet is 0B, as you can see in front of the parenthesis (which seems logical since you have no active tasks). So, what's your point? If you post in the Bug Reports section make sure that you explain how you discovered the bug and why you think it's a bug (by presenting a logical reasoning thread), so that we can verify it and try to reproduce it. Short of that this post will be moved to the Incomplete and Deleted section, since it's not a help request either.
solarhead
I think he is saying that when he checks the box to allow bitcomet to control the cache, that it does not read 400 mb .... but unfortunately, I'm not sure that he understands that the settings are a max and a min for a reason. By allowing Bitcomet to control the cache, it will work to control the cache and make sure it remains within these two settings.....

I mean that bitcomet will not pass 400MB even i did not check "Auto-Choose cache size in the given range" , 400 MB will be the maximum cache like in the option. This is what i wanted to say. The UnUsual Suspect
If you check that option, bitcomet will select it's own most efficient cache size as long as it doesn't use more then 400mb or less then 6. It might use a range of 50-100 today because you only have one task, but tomorrow you have 5 tasks, so it may change to 100-400. If you uncheck the option, then you are going to have increased memory usage because 400mb will always be available for cache. If you ALWAYS have lots of unused ram, then go ahead and uncheck it, but if you want more efficient use of ram memory, then enable this option. greywizard
To put TUUS' explanation in other words, unchecking that option doesn't mean that BitComet will exceed the maximum value but that it won't dynamically manage the amount of memory used, within that range. I.e. you misunderstood what that option does.
