Apocalypse2012
It would be real nice if you let me keep my settings after an update I do not want preview but you always put that back after update , it's real anoying to set it back to the way I want it to be, tha includes the "autostart on windows startup"

The UnUsual Suspect
Updating bitcomet won't change any of your preferences.
kluelos
All of bitcomet's settings are stored in the "bitcomet.xml" file, which is nominally stored in a directory under %appdata%. A normal bitcomet update does not overwrite that file, so all of your settings and preferences are preserved. It's only if you specifically delete that file somehow, that your preferences will vanish. If you save it somewhere else, and put it back after whatever you're doing, your settings should reappear as you had them.
Apocalypse2012
so why does ALLWAYS "vip" "comments" "preview" and other things I deselected show up after upgrading?

Apocalypse2012
I don't delete any files, it just resets by itself after any upgrade...
kluelos
Hmm. This doesn't happen for me. Now the column sizes aren't preserved, but they never were. Which columns are visible though, is always preserved. Why not see what happens if you save a copy of your settings file elsewhere, then recopy it into the program directory after the upgrade? Apocalypse2012
Ok, for some reason I had 2 bitcomets installed 32 and 64bits, that could be it, I will know after next update...
