sinn80
I am using 10G plan. I perform download which take up 7.89GB bandwidth. After the torrent completed and task removed from BitComet several weeks ago, my available bandwidth did not free up for next download. My remaining bandwidth is 2.57GB. Can somebody help me? Thanks! kluelos
It doesn't "free up". There ought to be a better description used than "bandwidth". Bandwidth is a speed of data transferred over time, which is not what's being offered or sold. (Your bandwidth is determined by your arrangement with your ISP, and nothing that anyone else can do is going to change that.) Instead, it's simply the amount of data you're permitted to download with anonymous VIP. That is, you bought 10 GB, you used 7.43, you only have 2.57 GB left. It's not 10 GB/hour or anything like that, it's just 10 GB. Once you use it, it's gone, like cell phone minutes on a prepaid card.

pristine2
It's clear enough. In my case, the "bandwidth" (VIP data transfer allowance) has depleted steadily, even though the VIP acceleration has not worked even once. The "Disable" button, which can only be used 24 hours after a VIP download is "enabled", is obviously miscoded and only works sporadically. Everyone understands that this is a volunteer project and VIP is Beta. Nonetheless, Bitcomet is marketing the service, soliciting new users and taking money even though it knows the service does not really work. It's hard to believe you don't see the ethical problem with this. I urge BitComet to stop selling new subscriptions to VIP Download until such time as it is rendered functional. kluelos
The people providing support on this forum do see it. Unfortunately, we have no more of a voice in this than you do. We can (and have) urged that this service not be sold until it works better, or that it be removed until it is fixed, and that people not buy it without understanding exactly what they will be getting. However, you are wrong about the service not working. It does work, occasionally, and it works very well when it does work. This has been handled by requesting/issuing refunds for bandwidth lost, though the responses are (I understand) slow. All of us agree that it should be and could be handled better, but we don't make the decisions and we don't work for BitComet.
