Bitcomet 0.70 freezes when dht is used

Recommended Posts

How have you determined dht is causing this?

Many users considered .70 to be a very stable version but this version is nearly seven years old and many advancements have been introduced since so you really should consider a new version. Additionally, the behavior you describe hasn't been observed on this version so I doubt it's a problem with the software and even if it was, development only works on problems affecting recent versions. We do offer our old versions and you're free to use them, but support will be very limited.

You are going to have to be a lot more forthcoming with information if we are going to be able to understand your problem. You've provided none of the required info for requesting support so we know nothing at all about what hardware and software you're using so all I can really say is that in the past seven years no one (that I'm aware of) has reported this problem with .70, so there must be something unique with your system that's making it hang.

Also, if you're not wanting to give up your classic .70 version but want to try a new version, follow the link in my signature and download the .zip version of a new version, extract the files and you can run them without installing so it won't have any effect on your current installed version, but please don't try to run both at the same time The newer versions have some substantial improvements like LTseed that can not only speedup downloads, but in some cases can download unseeded or poorly seeded torrents. They also have support for http/ftp and emule protocols.

Sorry, I use Windows xp sp2 with an ADSL connection.
