Torrentz0r
Hello people. My yellow light in Bitcomet is enabled. It is saying that the listen port is blocked. I don't understand why, because I already opened the listen port UDP and TCP on my router + firewall. Any help?

Torrentz0r
1) What version of BitComet are you using? 1.26 2) What type of Internet connection do you have (ADSL, etc.)? Wireless 150.0 Mbps connection. 3) Do you have a modem? Do you use a router? What make and model are each one of them? Have you forwarded your port? Zyxel router 4) If you have more than one router, be sure to mention the make and model of both devices, how are they connected (i.e. in which connector of both devices is the network cable plugged) and which one of the devices is connected to or is the modem. Also, if you have more than one computer make sure to mention in this case, to which router is every one of them connected. N/A 5) What version of Windows, Firewall and Antivirus do you use? Windows XP Firewall 6) If you are asking about a specific torrent or file that you have downloaded, make sure that you include the complete torrent name, as well as the complete names of the files and their respective extensions/formats (e.g.: .rar, .wma, .bin, .cue, etc.). Any torrent. 7) For speed-related issues, please run various speed tests at a site such as speedtest.net (make sure that no other computer is using your Internet connection and that all other programs - including BitComet - are closed, during the tests). Include the results, along with the settings that you are presently using, in your post, so that we may review and offer suggestions to improve its performance. The UnUsual Suspect
Thanks, can you please better describe the type of wireless connection you have? You mention a Zyxel router, what model is this? and what type of internet connection does it connect to? If you have a separate modem, see if you can connect directly to it with an ethernet cable and report if your port is still blocked. This could help to determine where your incoming connections are being blocked. Also, check that your router portforward setting is using the same lan IP address that windows shows when you run the "ipconfig" command. If windows is using a dynamic IP address it is common for it to change when you restart your computer in which case your portforward rule would no longer be valid. Torrentz0r
All that it says in my network settings is "LAN or high speed connection". The exact model of the router is zyxel p-2601hn-f1. Tried with ethernet cable, still blocked. And yes, the ipconfig command shows the same IP. The UnUsual Suspect
it looks like this device contains a modem so there is no way to connect directly to your modem without going through your router... this means we don't know if your problem is software installed on your computer or settings in your router. Have you contacted the routers tech support to see if they can help you?
Torrentz0r
I haven't contacted them as I am very unsure on what to ask as I don't even know what the problem is.
The UnUsual Suspect
You stated that you opened the listening port in your router, but it would seem it's not open so most likely the port was not forwarded properly. I don't own one of these routers I can't really tell you how to do it, but BitComet needs to have open (two way) connection to the internet and since you have selected to use a router, all incoming traffic has to pass through it. The way this is done is to setup a portforward rule so any connection on a specific port will be forwarded directly to the proper computer. The manufacture should be able to help you with the settings or you can try the guides at portforward.com, they cover many models of routers, just avoid the ads offering to sell you software to do it for you, the software isn't any easier and isn't needed. Actually the process is very simple, but each model does it slightly different so there is no universal instruction.
