The UnUsual Suspect
does this happen every night, or only when a downloading task completes at night?

duce82
And check for what. I cant see anything n there that would close bitcommet i thought the scheduler would only stop torrents not turn off bitcommet itself Edited June 7, 2013 by duce82 (see edit history)
The UnUsual Suspect
I've seen cases where bitcomet would crash upon completion of a torrent, but in your case I'm not sure if it's crashing or shutting down. When you restart it, do your active tasks go through a rehash process, or does it startup normally?
duce82
the torrents are not complete when bitcommet turns off. when i restart bitcommet in the morningeverything starts up normally it doesnt rehash or anything. bitcommet is shutting itself down only when left on overnight its been on all day today and didnt shut itself down even after torrents were completed . The UnUsual Suspect
Do you have windows update set to do automatic updates? These are usually done at night and will restart your computer, in effect shutting down many apps. You can try to disable windows updates and see if the problem stops, or change it's settings so it updates at a different time, default I think is 3am if I'm not mistaken. ps. if bitcomet was shutting down due to an error, it should queue all tasks for hashcheck to make sure none of the data was lost, absence of this behavior indicates that it was shut down in an orderly fashion and since you didn't do it, windows update is the only thing that comes to mind. duce82
windows automatic updates was allready turned off i cant stand it and would rather to it myself. Last night bitcomet did not turm its self. i had not changed anything so i have no idea why this was. im not 100% sure but i dont think my pc is restartin, ill leave a file or 2 open tonight to check. i dont believe its shutting down in error but something is shutting it down and i have no idea why. The UnUsual Suspect
Check your event viewer in windows, it should list something if your machine is restarting due to an error.
