prioritize interent

hey all,

i am sorry if this has already been asked but i couldnt find it in the forum.

i am looking to prioritize browsing over torrent usage, meaning that i want more broadband available when i am browsing without having to change the upload and download limit.

is this possible?

If you have a router that does traffic shaping you can have bittorrent set to a low priority, but this will usually slow your torrents considerably even when you're not browsing. The best option is to set your max upload to 80% of your confirmed (tested) max upload. This will resolve most browsing problems and will usually provide better download performance.
