pyatachoks
Is there a way to rename downloaded files but still keep them seeding?
The UnUsual Suspect
You can copy them with a new name, but the originals need to remain in the proper location with original names.
pyatachoks
Thank you for your reply. I would also like to know if it will be later possible to use the renamed copy of the file as the original file for seeding if I rename it back and return it to the original download location
The UnUsual Suspect
Yes, as long as the name is exactly the same and the file/s doesn't change in any way. When you do this before starting the torrent do a manual hash check to confirm everything is correct, then when it confirms 100% you can seed. In most cases it's easiest to just leave the files in their original names. Also, when your torrent is stopped the files remain available for LTseed, this is an addition to bittorrent protocol that only bitcomet offers and in some cases allows bitcomet to outperform all other clients, so if you keep them where bitcomet can find them and in their original format it will help the entire community.
