T_Azam
Hi! I've started to use Peer Block recently for annonimity but it is not letting BitComet to sign in to comet I.D. I've tried allow http and disable http ...no luck. The only way I can sign back in is after exiting Peerblock, so I guess I need to create an allow list for this. My question to you is how to creat specific allow list and what ip range's are required? It'd be a great help if you guided me on this in detail. I'd like to thank you in advance for your guidance. Take care & Peace
The UnUsual Suspect
Hi, This information is posted in our FAQs at wiki.bitcomet.com under known incompatibilites with our client. I was going to post a link for you but it seems there is a problem with the database and the data isn't displaying so I dug it out of the archives for you. PeerGuardian/Protowall Conflicts with BitComet ==== Please check in the logs for the next URLs: ip-us.bitcomet.org: 221.130.193.23-221.130.193.23 ip-us.bitcomet.org: 221.130.193.33-221.130.193.33 ip-us.bitcomet.org: 221.130.195.221-221.130.195.222 ip-us.bitcomet.org: 221.130.195.224-221.130.195.226 torrent-cache.bitcomet.org: 221.130.195.227-221.130.195.227 torrent-filehash.bitcomet.org: 221.130.195.229-221.130.195.229 torrent-filehash.bitcomet.org: 221.130.195.231-221.130.195.231 inside-stats.bitcomet.com: 221.130.199.139-221.130.199.139 inside-stats.bitcomet.com: 222.73.227.222-222.73.227.222 and allow them. Your problem will be solved This problem isn't a bitcomet problem, nor is it a peerblock/peerguardian problem, it's a result of those who make the block lists you are using. Their definition of "hostile ip addresses" is so wide that any act of reporting data is considered hostile even though many third parties have confirmed that the only data collected is the hash value of the torrents and files within (in order to identify additional sources to speed up your download), and the gross amount of upload to advance you in rank. All of this is collected anonymously and it's only done if these features are enabled. Despite these facts the IPs continue to be listed in the common p2p block lists and without this information bitcomet will be reduced to the effectiveness of any other bittorrent client, but still can be used efficiently without comet ID or the advanced features like LTseeding.
