Bill 2029
Windows 10 defender has twice, automatically removed Bitcomet reporting "potentially unwanted app found" (misleading:wim32/:Lodi (Active) plus threat Low. I downloaded & reinstalled Bitcomet twice and ignored constant popups by Windows Defender stating "potentially unwanted app found"
Rhubarb
It's the bundled app installer that is the culprit. The only 'cure' is to turn off a/v, download and install and decline the optional offers. Restart the a/v once BitComet has been installed and, if you feel it necessary, run an a/v scan. The problem has been reported to the devs
amarsi
Similar problem: I am reported error on BitCometAgent_1.92.7.9.dll (Norton 360 and Loaris Troian Remover). Installed multiple times and deny optional requests, but the problem remains. Thanks for your attention.
abc101
You can try this download that always works: https://www.bitcomet.com/en/archive It is the bundled advertising software that is embedded in the installation file provided from this link: https://www.bitcomet.com/en/downloading?platform=win32 that upsets the antivirus software which find malware applications bundled with the BitComet app. The same thing happens when the BitComet app automatically downloads the next installer version and then asks the user to install it. It might be useful for the installer to propose the installation of the emule plugin at the end of a successful installation process. Many users do not realize that this can be a multiprotocol download combination of apps that greatly enhances availability and download speed of files. Rhubarb
The problem with 'removing' the bundled apps is the 'cost'. BitComet - app and service - are provided free to the users. However, servers need to be paid for and the main source of revenue is the bundled apps, so removing them isn't really such a good idea (unless you're willing to pay an annual fee (like some other torrent clients) The simple cure is - turn off the AV prior to installing and restart it once the installation is complete
