bitdave
You could try changing your port to one in this range 49154 - 65534. Then if you have a router make sure to adjust your portforwarding rule to match the new port number. Other than that, if you havent already, read through the settings guide in my sig. Also try downloading this torrent and tell me if it works http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/

I spent over three hours going through all the steps you mentioned and also going through the portforwarding to adjust the settings in the router. My bitcomet's configurations are still the following: Overall Infos: Torrents: 2 | Peers: 0 | Sockets: 0 (HTTP: 8) TCP Connections: Established: 0 | Half-Open: 0 | Waiting: 0 LAN IP: 0.0.0.0 / WAN IP: 0.0.0.0 Overall Download Rate: 0 KB/s Connection Limits: 30 - 60 per task Overall Upload Rate: 0 KB/s Upload slots: 3 - 5 Default tracker optimization rules file loaded. bitdave
First I need some more info. Do you have any antivirus / firewall software running on your PC??? (Norton, Mcafee, ZA, etc) Who is your ISP??? -web browsing works fine right??? What router do you have??? Do you have the DHT Network enabled in Bitcomet??? -is this also not able to connect??? Did that torrent I linked to previously also not work??? In the tracker tab when you start any torrent do all the trackers always give you an error??? Here is the following answers to your questions: I am using Norton Internet Security 2005 and Windows firewall My ISP is vc.shawcable.net DHT is not able to connect on Bitcomet The torrent link you suggested did not open on Bitcomet Yes all the trackers have "can't connect tracker" I have an old computer linked to the same router and modem. I just tried downloading the Bitcomet and I was able to download and upload without any problems. Could it be a software problem that is interfering with the TCP connection? bitdave
Most likely the problem is because your using two firewalls NIS 2005 and windows firewall, and actually your using three if you include your router. You only need one, or one hardware and one software is OK also. I would suggest completely removing Norton Then download and install either AVG free or Avast free antivirus This should fix your problem
