Jaded_one
 Hello I'm new here and this is my first time posting in the help section. I gave a problem I need help with. I created a new torrent but when I try to seed it it doesn't show it uploading. I have Norton antivirus installed on my computer and when i try to seed it it says "norton anti virus has bocked and intrusion attempt" and some of the following was in the message(I left some out on purpose)>> Details: Intrusion: Invalid UDP Destination Port. UDP Source Port: 9147. UDP Destination Port: 0. This port number is invalid. what does that mean?
caf4926
first of all, norton is turd (you know, crap) and are you sure its not the firwall part of Norton that is blocking Try kerio firewall and either Avast or AVG free editions for anti virus and allow the BC port in your firewall in and out
Choc
Well, don't know much but from my experience Norton blocks out stuff that it classes as malicious. So, BitComet may be trying to communicate through your UDP Port and Norton just says to be careful about that kinda stuff. Just 'Permit' it. Its just a precaution for users to help protect your system.
Jaded_one
first of all, norton is turd (you know, crap) and are you sure its not the firwall part of Norton that is blocking Try kerio firewall and either Avast or AVG free editions for anti virus and allow the BC port in your firewall in and out You see that's what Im confused about I have windows firewall, Stopzilla, and Norton system works installed on my computer! I didn't have any warning messages from any of them except from Norton system works. It says that it's blocking an intrusion attempt but i doesn't show any option to let me permit. If i went to the internet worm options i could probably exclude it but I don't know which is the one to excuse. Try kerio firewall and either Avast or AVG free editions for anti virus and allow the BC port in your firewall in and out Even if I wanted to install that firewall. I would have to pay right? the decision is not really up to me because this is a shared computer. What is the BC port ? Also when I try to confidure windows firewall it won't let me! Well, don't know much but from my experience Norton blocks out stuff that it classes as malicious. So, BitComet may be trying to communicate through your UDP Port and Norton just says to be careful about that kinda stuff. Just 'Permit' it. Its just a precaution for users to help protect your system. When the warning message pops up there is no option to exclude. I could exclude it if I found it the internet worm option but I don't which one it is that i should exclude.
bitdave
Even if I wanted to install that firewall. I would have to pay right? No, Kerio firewall, AVG antivirus, and Avast antivirus are all programs which have free versions that work great. Whatever you decide though you should only have one firewall and one antivirus installed on a PC, if you have two firewalls or two antivirus they will stumble over each other and cause problems. dimchopicha2003
you need to exclude C:\program files\BitComet\bitcomet.exe file. You can see which port is using in the moment by clicking options->preferences->connection->listen port. Read the FAQ's to see how to configure listen port.
