theSpam
Ok, i just downloaded BitComet and i started downloading a torrent that i got and when i start downloading the torrent, my interent connection shuts down Only Bitcomet works because i am still downloading the file but everything thing else cannot connect to the internet, like firefox and aim Limit your upload rate to 80% of your line's upload capacity (I think this is stated in the preferences section). And I have to disable my firewall(Zonealarm Free) just to download the torrents, i setup the port fowarding thing to a port but i still dont know why it doenst workAnd i keep getting intrusion attempt logs in zonealarm] Thanks Err, let BitComet access the net? kluelos
If you set up port forwarding, then you have a firmware firewall. You don't need a software firewall on top of that, but if you must have one, it shouldn't be Zonealarm. You'll notice that if you turned it off, it should stop complaining about intrusion attempts, being turned off and all. This is one of the bigger problems with ZoneAlarm -- the only way to turn it off is to completely uninstall it. I recommend you do that anyway. Use the router's firewall. If you have more than one, they'll only stumble and trip over each other like this.
blade85
so a hardware firewall is enough to protect my comp? so zonealarm isnt neccessary? And i fixed the upload rate thing, thx
Dark_Shroud
Get rid of Zonealarm. If you have a Firewall router then you can just use Windows Firewall without a problem. Just keep an updated Antivirus program on.
