1) trying choosing a random port a couple of times

2) make sure you have a good internet connection

3) are you using a router to connet to router?

4) make sure to check allow firewall exceptions in preferences

5) if all else fails try restarting computer

did 1,2 and 5

3)yea im using a router to connect to da internet

4)Allow firewall exceptions in preferences???...cant find that!!

Both messages are because a firewall is blocking the listen port, the "can't connect" because TCP is blocked, the "DHT not connected", because UDP is blocked.

Open the listen port in your firewall, and set a rule that allows BitComet through permanently on that port.

If you have a router, it probably has a built-in firewall. If so, 1) that's all the firewall you really need, so get rid of the software firewalls, and 2) you'll have to forward a port through the router's firewall. See portfoward.com for instructions.
