Goten475
When i download small files say 170megs each or even slightly bigger ones, bitcomet seems to download more data than is needed for even the entire file. For example im downloading a file that is 170.03 megs and it says it has downloaded 70.3% but the total downloaded data is 260mb. Is there any reason this happens? it has only just started occuring the last few weeks, it does not tend to happen with larger files say 1gig+, also the files i am downloading have 14000+ health. Thanks... oh yeh, my friend says that he gets this sometimes too.
Dark_Shroud
Look in the discarded data section. Someone might have had a very bad connection and was corrupting data because of it. Someone (MPAA/RIAA) could be using a modified version of Azureus purposely poising the .torrent. It could be a number of things. Try downloading Peer Guardian 2 and using only the following three lists during install: p2p, ads, & spyware. You don't need to block government ranges and you don't want to block edu ranges as that will block people in their dorms on high speed lans. kluelos
It's getting so there is a crying need for a very clear FAQ section. This question, the 'DHT isn't connected" question, these are getting very, very old.
Dark_Shroud
I was just thinking that myself. It needs it own thread.
dimchopicha2003
I think that everything is explained very clearly in the FAQ's (here or on the p2p forum). I've never seen another forum like this to have link to the FAQ's on the top of every page. And still they don't make the effort to open their eyes and read for awhile. You can't help on such type of people no matter what you do.
Dark_Shroud
We do have a link to our FAQ at the top of every page. ;)
Goten475
EDIT: this members post was removed for bad language I would have replyed that the problem is likely with your connection, and check with your isp. but instead I will just delete the content of your post and warn you that this language will NOT be tolorated in our forum Regards, The UnUsual Suspect Edited August 18, 2006 by The UnUsual Suspect (see edit history)
Soraiya
Hmm, looks like the 'inappropriate' use of language was already cleared up :P Anyway, yes I thinkwe may actually need to separate the Not connected to DHT Network issue. But I'll definitely need to add it into the FAQ. If Moderators/Tech Support staff wish to edit our FAQ, feel free to do so. Also, this FAQ isn't put onsite because it just requires so many updates XD
