ILLZ
I've been using BitComet for some time, and suddenly today it stopped saving MP3 files as MP3's, and instead started saving them as .ogg files. I don't know why, nor do I know how to fix it. They won't play via WMP and they won't transfer into itunes, as they aren't MP3's. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Dark_Shroud
That's because those aren't MP3s. They're vorbis audio. Install CCCP to add support for them to your system, then WMP will be able to play them. Off the top of my head I can't think of any converters for those. ILLZ
So am I accidentally downloading the incorrect files? And theres nothing wrong with my setup?
Dark_Shroud
Correct, Vorbis is another type of audio that is capable of MP3 quality. So you just need a converter.
realutd7
do you know of any good converters which are free??
The UnUsual Suspect
Here is one of many I found on a google search... http://www.ogg-converter.com/ they appear to have a trial version you can download for free. I recommend you search "ogg converter" from google.com. I got almost six million results. Suspect ps. If you just want to play them, then do as dark shroud suggested and install the codecs so your media players will recognise them. Also, always look in torrent details BEFORE you download a torrent, this way you will not be supprised with an unexpected file type.
