no download/upload speeds

I went back to BC .70. I have 1 torrent trying to download. there is 22 seeds and 1170 peers, but I can't connect with any of them. my download and upload speeds remain at 0. my firewall is disabled. It's not a router problem becouse my wife has BC on her computer and it works fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions??

I am using windows xp.
