tvbods
I use BitComet 0.70, all is fine except for the amount of rubbish data, it also increases when the download is near to its end (97% and more), to give an idea in figures (4.3 GB file actually downloaded 6.5 GB, the difference is rubbish data.) I even have a 400MB file that has so far downloaded 3GB and is not finished yet, anyone has any idea why is this happening. Please Help!
The UnUsual Suspect
I recommend you contact your isp and have your connection tested. Bit torrent protocall tests each piece after it is downloaded, and if it fails hash check, it will be discarded and requested again. If it was only one torrent, I would think you were connected to some bad peers, but if this happens with all torrents, I think the connection problem is on your end. Your isp can test your connection very easily, and if you have abnormal packet loss, they may have to send a serviceman to check your connections. bitdave
Download and use Peerguardian 2. PG2 will help block certain malicious peers from sending you bad data. After you install it, disable the education list so that you dont block people at colleges. You might also want to "Allow HTTP" otherwise web surfing can be a pain.
