flynn724
Anyone got any ideas about whether I can use BitComet at uni. I have been using it for ages and I jsut got my internet at uni to work and I no one here can figure out if we need to mess with the settings to use BitComet, or if it is the Uni that is stopping us from using it. The UnUsual Suspect
Many schools do indeed block bit torrent traffic. If you can think of a legitimate reason to need it, perhaps they will assign you a listening port to use (depending on their policy), or you could try getting the system admin a case of beer... lol You may also try disabling listening port, although this will be slow, if it works at all. There are other possible methods, and I will work on making a post on this since we seem to be getting alot of questions related to this. flynn724
Thanks a lot. Is there anythng off the top of your head that might help - apart from the listening port.
Dark_Shroud
WoW uses bittorrent to update. Linux and other open source software are distributed via bittorrent.
