RyanGould83
I've recently moved into university manged accomodation, and am using ResNet to connect to the net. I cant get any of the torrents to connect. Ive used www.canyouseeme.org, and I am showing up on a number of ports. I basically now have no idea how to check what the problem may be. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks
The UnUsual Suspect
If you are able to bypass your schools security and download, assuming it's against their rules, a good network admin could easily detect your usage and possibly suspend your usage, or worse. If you still want to try, you may be able to download by disabling your listening port, but slowly. You might also try nat transvarsal, and using a proxy for tracker comunications. However, if you agreed to not use p2p filesharing, then ask yourself if its really worth it. Suspect ps. or you could try buying your admin a case of cold beer lol
RyanGould83
Ive checked with the network admin services, and they say that BitComet isn't on the banned list of programs so its allowed to be used on the network, but I may have problems finding an open port. Ive managed to find an open port, but still cant get any sort of connection. Any more advice? Thanks, (sorry for being such a retard!)
kluelos
It would help to be a lot more specific about what the problem is. When you have active torrents, look at the trackers tab, and notice what responses you're getting. Look at the seeds/peers columns and see what they're saying. Look at the peers tab and see what that's saying.
RyanGould83
it constantly reads 0/0 and says cannot connect to tracker. I have the proxy settings from the administrator, and i was assured that provided i could find an open port (which i have) it would work normally. Sorry about this, im a total newbie
RyanGould83
forget the last one, managed to get it connecting although my download speed wont go over 3kb/s now. Im guessing this is a network issue
