EEE Veteran
Whenever I play a video file in "Preview" or Windows Media Player, there's no video, only audio. At the bottom of WMP, the ticker says "Song: Band of Brother Part 1." I'm thinking that I'm playing the video in "Music" of WMP. Is there a way to switch from "Music" to "Video" in WMP or is there something else wrong?
The UnUsual Suspect
You most likely don't have to proper codecs to play the video. Here are links to a couple codec packs, install ONLY one of these... CCCP (best for playing of files) http://cccp-project.net/ k lite codecs (best for playing, editing and encoding) http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm if you select the k lite pack, don't just install all the options, or you will surely have problems (default settings work fine for nearly every user) Besure to install media player classic as well, both packs include this. EEE Veteran
Thanks, man, I think you're right. I forgot to mention it earlier, but I noticed yesterday that there was a notice at the bottom of WMP that said "Codec error." Thanks again.
