peters
Hi all, I have been usins BC for quite a while and have a 10mb broadband connection. I am using XP home and Kaspersky internet security. When downloading large files 500kb and above I struggle to get above 45kb download SPEED BUT SMALLER SIZE FILES, USUALLY software can come down at 300kb plus???? I always try to go for files with a lot of seeds etc but still slow as a turtle. Any help would be great. Thanks Pete
bitdave
Kaspersky is known to have some problems with p2p. You might want to disable intrusion protection in Kaspersky anithacker see here Also i think you meant 500 MB. If Kaspersky doesnt work out for you may I suggest Kerio as a replacement firewall Also AVG is a good antivirus They both have free versions that keep you secure and work well with p2p apps

But I have had AVG and windows firewall before Kaspersky and had the same problem. That is why I changed. Thanks Pete
Dark_Shroud
Then you probably have other problems as well. The XP SP-2 firewall is really good, you just add BitComet to the exceptions list and you're good to go. Becase BitComet will even add it's ports to the list. Soraiya
Um, Could you tell us which Firewall brand/version you're using? Antiviruses rarely cause issues, except for Kapersky & Norton's. Have you checked out your Port Forwarding steps?
dUmBbOi
Im using Norton Anti Virus 2006 , the port forward have already been done
Soraiya
Hm, 2006 version should be of no issue. How about the firewall you're using? Also, when you initiate a torrent, can it connect to the tracker, and actually connect to peers?
