nidahali
I'm having problems with my download speed, it's only 3 KBPS from 33 peers. The upload speed's s KBPS from 5 peers. I've got 45 connected seeds and 60 connected peers. Please tel me how to increase my speed. I'm currently downloadin Smallville s06e03 which's 355.23 MB file. This is not the only tv series I want to download but I cant because of the speed I get. I downloaded s06e01 but it took 4 days for it. Can anyone help me increase my download speed so that I would be able to download in less than 2 days. I also wanted to know how I can find out what cable connection I am getting, Also how can I know if I'm behind a firewall and if I am using a router. Thanks in advance! Dark_Shroud
Please tel me how to increase my speed. Make sure you're using 0.70 and then follow our settings guide. I also wanted to know how I can find out what cable connection I am getting. If you're looking to find your speed then run a speed test. I have a link to one in my sig. The only thing is you can't have any p2p or IM apps running when you perform one. Also how can I know if I'm behind a firewall and if I am using a router. While running Bitcomet check this site http://canyouseeme.org/ and enter the port number you have BitComet set for. Click on their ad when you're done with them to keep them funded & running. nidahali
First of all thank you for your reply. I'm using 0.70 and followed the settings guide and the instructions in the posts. I didn't get the speed testing link so if you'd be kind enough to tell me. Also I'm not behind any firewall. So now, how can I make my downloads more efficient and speedy? Thanks again for the help :)
The UnUsual Suspect
the speed test is right there under "bc settings guide", or click here... http://www.speedtest.net/index.php?link=1 Please also report what results you got from "canyouseeme.org". Without this info, we cannot help you further. Suspect
nidahali
Ok here's the result from canyouseeme.org: Success: I can see your service on 125.209.124.188 on port (60002) Your ISP is not blocking port 60002 I'm yet to test my speed because I'm downloading Flash 7 for my browser. Hope this information is enough. Thank you so very much for all your help.
The UnUsual Suspect
This is good, your listening port is open. Now I suggest you throughly go through the settings guide, after you run speed test and pay careful attention to setting your upload limit. suspect ps. here is a good torrent to test your client... http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/index.html
nidahali
Ok I don't know how to use the speed test site and when I clicked on this client, it generated an error. So basically I'm stuck because I've not done either :( Will you explain one thing to me please? Right now I'm downloading Smallville's episode. It's size is 355.23 MB now what I don't understand is that it's showing that my Total Download's 240.73 MB (0 B rubbish data dropped) and remaining's 279 MB due to which it has only been 21.5% progress. How can this be?
The UnUsual Suspect
I think your "total downloads" figure is reporting more then this one torrent, since the numbers make sense if you disregard that one. I still suggest you try the open office torrent, as I was able to get speed over 700kB/s with 8mb/s broadband. This is the second fastest torrent I have seen, and will give you a practicle idea of what your connection/client can do, rather then a simple speed test. Mrs_Margera
I've been trying to increase my speed as well and when I went to canyourseeme.org it says Error: I could not see your service on 68.156.127.198 on port. Is this good or bad? And if bad, what do I do?
