d-whee
I used to use Bitcomet at my school by using a program called HTTP tunnel. The program's website is located here: http://www.http-tunnel.com/html/support/overview.asp It was slow, but it worked alright. Now that I'm home Bitcomet doesn't seem to work at all through my DSL connection. A file that was downloading fine earlier doesn't download anymore. Its status stays at 'connecting.' What connection settings might have been changed in switching over to my DSL connection at home? What do I need to change in order to get it to work again? bitdave
Do you have a router for your DSL connection or a modem ??? If you have a router make sure the port that Bitcomet uses is forwarded to your computer. Also make sure the proxy feature is off in Bitcomet since you shouldnt need it for your home DSL connection. Take a look at the Settings Help in my sig, these were my settings for a DSL connection so it may help you.
d-whee
It was the proxy feature that was doing it. I'm downloading fine now. Thank you!
Dark_Shroud
Just a few notes, if you do decide to use a proxy, only use it for tracker communication. Let the PE (Protocol Encryption) do the work for DHT and communication between the peers. Because sending the peer connections through a proxy will kill your speed. And if it’s not an anonymous /secure proxy it won't do you any good anyway.
