The UnUsual Suspect
Since you didn't identify what kind of files you downloaded, I can only assume you don't have the proper codecs installed... CCCP (best for playing of files)http://cccp-project.net/ k lite codecs (best for playing, editing and encoding) http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm if you select the k lite pack, don't just install all the options, or you will surely have problems (default settings work fine for nearly every user) In the future always include full file name/s when asking about it. We can't read minds and only know what little info you give us. Suspect

kluelos
Your OS is hiding the file extensions from you. You can set it so that it doesn't do this anymore, but that's another topic. If you could see the extensions, you'd also see that this is a RAR file, and you need to extract it from the multi-part RAR archive it is in. Use WinRAR or (free) 7-Zip to extract the contents. The UnUsual Suspect
kluelos is correct, this could be compressed archive. However it is also possible that it is a "split file", not a compressed archive. If winRar cannot extract the files, try a free program called hjsplit.exe. Google can find it for you.
