I'm_Lost
Hello. i downloaded a movie the other day. it finished, and Windows media player said that i was missing the proper codec. Is there a codec i can download somewhere? I click preview on another file, and it almost starts playing, but it said that i'm missing media player classic. what is that, why do i need it? I've tried playing the files on wimamp and real and neither work. I know that these have been adressed before, more than likely, but i cant find the pages that they are on. Please help, John
The UnUsual Suspect
Here are a couple links for codecs... CCCP (best for playing of files) http://cccp-project.net/ k lite codecs (best for playing, editing and encoding) http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm if you select the k lite pack, don't just install all the options, or you will surely have problems (default settings work fine for nearly every user) Since your new to this, the CCCP pack is much safer. Suspect ps. both packs contain Media Player Classic, I suggest you install it.
