Dark_Shroud
Ok there are a few things to do here. First, there are no real "acceleration patches", if you installed something like that get rid of it because it's probably loaded with spyware. All the ones I've seen are. Now, Kaspersky Antivirus, has conflicts. At the moment I don't remember what the setting is that causes it but the others here do. It's something like anti hacker or worm blocking. As for your version of BC. You should be using either the latest version (0.68) or 0.64. 0.62 is too old, it's encryption doesn't work anymore and isn't compatible with any of the new clients. Does your modem have a firewall and/or NAT? Do you have XP SP-2 installed? Whatever firewall you're using you need to give BitComet full access or server access to the incoming and outgoing connections are not blocked. admix
okay..i'll get the latest bitcomet version. so..there's nothing much i can do about about my kaspersky internet security right? i've tried to set up access for bitcomet.exe in its anti-hacker firewall. but it seems complicated to set up the ports.i hope sumone can help me on this. next, ive read that if i have ip adress like this 192.168.*.* it means i do have a router. okay.. i have that kinda ip..but i dont think that im having a router.. im using D-link DFE-530+ TX PCI for my ethernet adapter. erm..my windows xp doesnt have any service pack installed.cant install one cause im using windows xp downloaded sumwhere in the internet..hehe..is there any service pack installer that wont check the windows license?hehe.. okies..i'll post any update after installing the latest BC.hope i'll find ways to solve the kaspersky conflict so it can be shared here.. Dark_Shroud
Ok, tell me what type of modem you have and I'll look that up and see what it is. As for Kaspersky ask a mod because for the life of me that 's the one thing I can' remember about the various security programs. Your ethernet adapter doesn't matter as long as it's at least 10/100. As for service pack 2 and Valadation, check this thread I made here: http://www.p2pforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=147052#147052 You should be able to get the info you need. admix
okies. major problem solved after upgrading my BC to version 0.68. but the download speed still doesnt satisfy me.(but its faster than before) B) and about the kaspersky firewall... i've set up 2 rules for bc. one for udp and the other one for tcp. just allow all inbound and outbound activity.. and i didnt adjust anything for the port setting.its quite complicated. then, restart the kaspersky internet security. finally..i get positive results.and in bc, under peers tab>initiation.. i can see the combination of remote & local. and my dowload speed is far better now.(but i want more..hehe) i hope this will help sumone that faces the same problem as me before. if my method is wrong, please correct me. :) almost forgot..yups my ethernet adapter is 10/100. my modem is ZTE ZXDSL831. about the service pack, shouldnt i install sp1 first before sp2? okies..catch up later. Dark_Shroud
Nope, you can just install SP2, then run Windows Update until you need to use those cracks. B) Ok your modem also works as a NAT router, so here is a guide: http://www.portforward.com/english/routers...DSL831index.htm
