jizzball_Q
Last night I went to bed, and I was downloading multiple things and seeding some others. When I woke up this morning they were all gone, and BitComet had closed. They are still in the folder that all the downloads go to, but they are no longer showing up on BitComet, and none of them are seeding either. It seems really strange especially because its never happened to me before, granted I have only been downloading torrents for about a month. Thanks to anyone that can help me! petch01
Did "somebody" accidently selected all torrents, clicked the cross and clicked "remove all tasks" before shutting down BitComet? Because what you found in the morning is exactly the result of such a kind of action OR is has been done remotely!!!! Petch01

jizzball_Q
Perhaps...although unlikely. Mostly (I forgot to mention) because I never closed bitcomet. EVER. I left my computer on all night long.
cassie
Hi jizzball, Although the Tech Support staff will probably be able to give you a more in-depth reply, I will try to suggest a few things, in the mean time. Although you don't offer information as to which version you're using (you really should include, at least the basics - version, O/S, firewall, antivirus, ISP, etc. - in any of your posts, so that the Staff have an idea, rather than waste time asking for this kind of info), and it really doesn't make any difference as to what I'm about to suggest, here is my two-cents' worth: Regardless of which version you're using, you should only be activating ONE torrent at a time. This is one of the major reasons that speeds crawl along, rather than prosper. Too many people (most of whom haven't bothered to set up their client properly) see that, for example their D/L speed is slow. "OK," they think, "then I'll just start another torrent, at the same time". Well that's exactly what's causing their own speed (and everybody else's) to decrease - they are trying to 'spread' their upload bandwidth amongst a lot of other users in the swarm. The rest (not all, mind you)in the swarm see that they're not getting very much download from this peer and, also start to do the exact same thing. And so on, and so on. It becomes a vicious circle. Just activate one torrent at a time, and you'l be fine. As for your BitComet shutting down, have you had any power shortages, recently? I ask this as, were I live, this happens frequently during the rainy season and, it's not unusual to have the power turn off, thus, closing down your PC (including BitComet), only to have it reboot itself, but still have BitComet closed (even if you have your Internet connexion set up to restart automatically). Well, I know that this won't fully answer your question but, it may give you time to add more info about your setup, etc., to offer to the Tech Support /Senior Staff, in the mean time. Regards, cassie :)
kluelos
This sounds like your downloads.xml file has been corrupted, which can happen because of power problems or disk problems. It's in your BitComet program directory. Try deleting the file (with BC shut down), then re-add the torrents and hash-check them if they don't show the correct % downloaded.
