pcs83
Base on bitdave setting on page http://forums.bitcomet.com/index.php?showtopic=533 I'm wondering Max Simultaneous Download Tasks: Base this setting on your Global Max Upload Rate try to have about 8 KB/s of upload bandwidth available for each task (for me 32 / 8 = 4, but i chose 3 so each torrent i run gets 12 KB/s) How to get 12 KB/s? How many Max Simultaneous Download Tasks should i key in to get about 2 KB/s of upload bandwidth available for each task? And How many Max Simultaneous Download Tasks should i key in to get about 4 KB/s of upload bandwidth available for each task? My Global Max Download Rate is key: 400KB/s My Global Max Upload Rate is key: 25kB/s
The UnUsual Suspect
Hi, you posted this question in the wrong section, and also posted it twice. I will move it to bit comet client support for you. First of all, I do NOT agree with the settings here, but this is my opinion. So before I explain, let me ask you a question... Do you like to have slow download speeds? I'm sure everyone will say no... well, when people run multiple downloads without the upload bandwidth to support them, they are slowing down everyone they connect to. I have a max upload rate of about 80kB/s, and never run more then one, or rarely two torrents at the same time. The biggest problem facing bit torrent is peers that are running too many torrents. Here is what some people are doing. They start a torrent, it goes slow, so instead of learning why, and properly setting up their client, they figure they will just run more torrents (I have seen members run over 100, and no, I am not joking). Now they are happy, because they are getting their downloads, slowly, but combined it adds up. The problem is that every one else suffers from this. I can download about ten full legnth movies, and fully seed them in a 24 hour period running them one at a time. Please consider this, and provide as much upload to the peers you connect to. Regards, Suspect
bitdave
Wow, pcs83, not to be mean but do you know how to divide. Your Global Max Upload Rate = 25 KB/s and you said you wanted 4 KB/s per task 25 / 4 = 6.25 so this you would round to 6 simultaneous download tasks BUT, I agree with Suspect. With only 25 KB/s upload bandwidth you should only run 1 torrent at a time. I plan on changing my guide to say that you should have at least 16 KB/s per task.
