welkin
I was trying to download something using bitspirit and the speed remained at 0 for a long time, when i switched over to bitcomet using the same torrent, the speed picked up quickly to 800kB/s. I was wondering what might be the reason in this dramatic difference... it seems that bittorrent clients should have very little influence on the connections... or does that mean bitcomet has some clever of getting around some firewalls that bitspirit can't? Thanks!
kluelos
All clients are basically equal in terms of speed. What matters is that the client is configured correctly for the system. It seems odd that one person can configure client A correctly, but can't get client B right, yet that happens all the time. Since BitSpirit is completely undocumented and the support is nonexistent, I wouldn't really even bother to try. Obviously there can be another factor: that such-and-such client has been banned and the tracker won't talk to it. But this is a "doh!" factor.
