Downloads stopping at 99.9%

Recommended Posts

I would say it is fair to assume that certain industry associations may be responsible for providing 99.x % of seeding and let everyone suffer...... sounds like payback.

I am not with such an organisation but you must remember, if the s*** you are downloading is stolen, someone is going to want to screw you around as much as possible.

Maybe this topic needs a sticky .... It has become very common lately.

Actually these "fake" torrents usually stop at 97%, NOT 99%.

Your problem is usually do to a router setting, but since I have no idea if you even have a router, I will wait to reply with how to fix it. (I hate to type my fingers sore only to be told you don't have one)

ps. Next time give full details so we can help you properly

From what I have seen, the solution really depends on what the general seeding population has.

I normally click on the Peers and then see if there are at least a few seeders who have 100% before I will download.

Would be nice if there was a plugin to test this sort of thing.

"Bad" torrents, ones that are designed to fail, with list a very large number of seeders, but will never finish.

Torrents that stop at 99.x % are usually caused by a router rewriting data, making one piece continue to fail hash check.

I am having the same problem as the OP

I connect through a router on a cable connection, and I have port 6881 open for bitcomet. The torrent in question (in my case) lists thousands of seeders, and downloads to 98.9%, after which point bitcomet sees absolutely zero seeders and cannot download.

I'm assuming this is a 'fake' torrent?
