small question, curiousity killed the cat ;)

I am just curious about something rather small. I am running bitcomet 0.70, and everything seems rather well. Though, I have noticed that, in particular, I still have showing download/upload speeds fluctuating in the top left corner beside the BitComet 0.70 title. All of my downloads are stopped, so in theory their should not be any download/uploading going on? At present time title shows "BitComet 0.70 - Download: 0 KB/s, Upload: 1 KB/s" Thank you in advance for your reply, and have a great day.

When you stop a torrent, the data upload stops, and your connections are terminated, but the "overhead" will continue for a little while. In other words, your telling all your peers that your not gonna trade with them anymore. Also, the inbound connections will continue for quite a while, till two things happen, you are able to inform the tracker your not online, then all the peers also reach the tracker to get an update that does NOT list you.

Also, if you have DHT (distributed hash table), then there is much, much more overhead.

Users with low bandwidth should disable dht unless its REALLY needed (like if tracker is offline).
