JimmyJump
version 0.79 refuses to connect to tracker http://seedy.mine.nu:6969/announce sample torrents for this can be found at http://bt.shinsen-subs.org/ I uninstalled 0.79 and switched to 0.70 and it connected to said tracker just fine Normally, when you upgrade an instance of BitComet, the newly installed version takes over the settings of the prior version, so 0.79 should use the same port as the previous one. What I have noticed is, that your firewall (I'm using BitDefender) needs to create a new rule for the 0.79 version. Better check that first and in one go check your portforwarding when using a router. JJ
katz
http://forums.bitcomet.com/index.php?showtopic=5391 Read this. (both of you!) That's where the problem lies. Either switch back to 0.70 and hope that in 0.80 they've learned their lesson, or you could grab a hex editor and fix it yourself, or you could switch the client, like I finally am going to do. The second option is NOT FOR BEGINNERS without successful cracking experience. The third one is for me because even though no task is started BC uses half my bandwith (15/30) to exchange unwanted bits with other IPs from my torrents' histories. That's really something you don't want if you're with slow speeds (like me) or your ISP charges you per downloaded MB.
JimmyJump
I didn't have that problem with 0.79... but switched back to 0.70 anyway, because of other issues ;) JJ Edited December 12, 2006 by Dark_Shroud (see edit history)
