Can anyone recomend me a good router?
Most routers, throughout their service lives, make just a relatively few connections that are genuinely new. The rest are the same connections, over and over again, day in and out. That being so, it makes a great deal of sense for the router to “memorize” its connections – they’ll probably be used again and very soon.
This is a good idea, and a very helpful one. It’s just bad when applied to P2P, where hundreds of new connections can be made per hour, and most of which will never be used again. That would still be OK if all those ephemeral connections didn’t affect the router’s performance, but for some, it does.
It can be seen that we’re not talking about bad routers, just ones that are suboptimal if you happen to be using P2P. It can be further seen that this is scarcely a minefield. Most routers will do just fine, because most of them don’t try to memorize connections. It is only the rare few that do this and mishandle it, that you have to worry about.
Also, are you talking Wired or Wireless? Because most wired routers will be fine.
