Can peers chat in bitComet?

I’m guessing this may have been asked before, but does anyone know if peers can chat to each other in bitcomet while in the swarm?

I used an old version of bitComet several months back before changing because I found that people either didn’t chat or I couldn’t communicate with other peers. I would type and I could see my comments, but I couldn’t see anyone else’s, the chat facility seemed ‘dead’. Has anyone else experience this and/or can help? Thanks in advance.

A lot of people just don’t use it. When you minimize BC to the system tray there is no type of warning to let people know someone it trying to chat.

The only way the other users in your swarm know that you’ve typed a message, is to click on the chat tab…and see if there’s been any discussion on.

However, most users tend to disable this function, thus the reason why no one really responds in chat.
