Are older versions of Cometbird available? I would like to revert to the version before 4.0.
Well, this looks kinda lame from our part.
If there are older versions of CometBird on the home site they are well hidden because I couldn’t find them. Obviously I’m not the only one.
OTOH Apphit still hosts the previous versions of CometBird.
Now where should we send users who want/need to downgrade for whatever reason?
On a different line of thought, I can see that links toward AppHit are still present throughout all the Comet sites (BitComet, CometBird, CometMarks and such). Does this go along well with the recent declarations we publicly made about CometNetwoks dissolving any partnership with AppHit?
I know that the newest products aren’t hosted anymore on their site, but doesn’t still keeping links to AppHit on the official sites, diminish the credibility of the said public statement?
That’s very true, I couldn’t find them either. Older versions should definitely be kept available. This is a major point distinguishing us from utorrent – they don’t have ANY older versions available and do not support them at all, whereas BitComet has always kept all of its previous versions available, and we try to support them all.
It’s important to make the older versions of CometBird available too.
Until we can give you an official link to older versions you can get them on many third party sites such as apphit.

I suspect Apphit won’t be updating our software anymore like filehippo lol, as they aren’t carrying cometbird 4.0, but at least they have previous versions. We can also put links up to private hosting sites if we see more of a need.
It’s also ironic that we kept getting whining members demanding a 4.0 version and now a rush to remove it as soon as it’s finally released lol must admit I saw this coming
