Can anybody tell me why the adobe doesn’t work or install right. Its says it needs to be updated and I do but it doesn’t work.

Is anybody got the same problem and is there something better than this piece a junk. Thank you

Adobe is a big company with many products. I could take a guess that your referring to their Flash player, but if I assume that, then anything further could be completely unrelated to your inquiry.

Adobe’s website will see you as a Mozilla Firefox user and attempt to install their download extension in order to download the flash update for firefox/cometbird. However, this download manager doesn’t seem to work correctly for many users. I too had this problem and I finally got someone from adobe to talk to, but they refused to be of any help because Flash Player is a free product. What he did tell me was to just use a different browser to download it if their download extension doesn’t work.

Unfortunately, I tried this with Google Chrome browser and the website told me that my google chrome already has the latest flash player installed, so it wouldn’t let me download it. I then tried with Internet Explorer, and was able to download the flash player for firefox/cometbird and was able to install it.

Just remember that Internet Explorer will ask you if you want to “run” or “save” the file. If you select “run” it will probably try to install on that browser, so “save” the file to somewhere you can find it and don’t try to run it from IE.

Good Luck, and please be specific next time you request help, and if this wasn’t related to “Flash”, then you cannot blame us, since you didn’t mention what product you wanted help with.

Please make sure to post in the correct forum - this one is for reporting Bugs (and has nothing to do with your query).

gringoada,

Hi. The UnUsual Suspect is right. What do you mean by just Adobe? Do you mean Adobe Shockwave Flash Player Plugin or do you mean Adobe Acrobat Reader?

If it’s the former, I suggest you to download and install both the Adobe Flash Player 10.2 Plugin (for all web browsers but Internet Explorer) and the Adobe Flash Player 10.2 ActiveX (for Internet Explorer only, despite whether you use it or not — download it and install it anyway, for security reasons).

■ 1. You gotta download the AFP 10.2 plugin (which is compatible with Mozilla Firefox, CometBird, Google Chrome, Opera and Safari web browsers). You can do it easily from amazing FileHippo.com. Download it only, don’t install it yet. Now, download the AFP 10.2 ActiveX for MSIE, also from FileHippo.com (in both cases, look for the Download This Version link in the right side of the webpages).

■ 2. Now you have to close all web browsers and any Mozilla technology based application (like Mozilla Thunderbird). First, install the AFP 10.2 plugin for non-IE web browsers. When done, install the AFP 10.2 ActiveX for MSIE. Now you can run any web browser again.

At least once a month check whether there’s any new version of yours installed plugins by going to the Mozilla Plugin Check webpage. If there’s a new version of Adobe Flash Player, you can download it easily from FileHippo.com without any annoying Download Manager built-in.

However, if you were talking 'bout the latter, I have good news for you. There’s a d*mn better PDF reader than Adobe Acrobat Reader and its name is Foxit Reader. It’s lighter and safer than Adobe Acrobat Reader and totally compatible with Mozilla Firefox and CometBird (it installs an optional —though recommended— plugin for all Mozilla technology based applications).

If you wanna give Foxit Reader a try, read this post about how fully uninstall the Adobe Acrobat Reader plugin from your Mozilla tech apps before installin’ Foxit Reader (this is intended for avoid conflicts between these PDF readers).

I don’t know. You might even be talking about the Adobe AIR plugin. In any case, you can download it from FileHippo.com as well and install it the same way you do with the Adobe Flash Player plugin.

Next time try and be a lil mo’ specific. :stuck_out_tongue:

Best regards,
