all I can get is page not displayed. when I first start bit comet I get a message that states cannot listen to port 8205. can somebody help me out here.

As for that issue, the port that you’re currently using is either closed or in Stealth Mode.
Be sure to add BitComet into your Firewall Exception list & if you have a router, be sure to Portforward BitComet (this is covered in our BitComet FAQ).
